Create landing page; It is one of the most important aspects of online marketing. There is no better way to get your potential leads engaged on your website than creating a landing page.

It is better than regular pages because there is no pre-existing content that allows you to create anything as per your requirements on the page.

The only thing which matters is user experience, and that’s why UX plays a crucial role in designing this type of page. If you have never created it before, you are at the right place to learn how to make your first landing page from scratch.

So, our ultimate goal is to create a page with all desired elements to capture leads. And keeping this end goal in mind, we will create a landing page with the help of Elementor.

But before that, we need to look at the purpose behind creating a landing page.

What is a Landing Page?

A landing page is a web page that your visitor reaches after clicking on an advertisement. It’s built specifically to keep people on a site for as long as possible and hopefully lead them to buy something. You can assume it as a door for your funnel.

Of course, it works as a door for your website. But its primary purpose is to collect email addresses and convert them into leads. These pages are designed to capture visitors’ attention and persuade them to take the next step on your sales funnel, such as signing up for a webinar or downloading a white paper.

The content should be benefit-driven and provide users with compelling reasons to take the action you want them to take.

Your landing-page success depends not only on the design or text you have throughout the page but also on the lead magnet you are offering in exchange for contact information.

If your lead magnet isn’t valuable, you won’t get much out of your landing page.

If you aren’t sure what a lead magnet is, head to this page to learn more. You’ll also learn what a lead magnet is and find tools and resources there to help you one for your business.

For now, Let’s talk about the structure of your Landing page.

Structure of Landing Page

When you create a landing page, the structure is essential. The format should be clear and in proper order. By having a clear and appropriate order, you can make the users know your product more efficiently, and it will make it easier for them to click on the button you want them to click.

Let’s see the five most important components.

Headline: The headline is the most critical part of your entire page. It is the first thing people are going to see on your page. If they don’t like what they see, they will just leave your website.

The headline doesn’t have to be long or short. Keep it brief and straightforward. But make sure that your headline includes these three elements.

  1. The product that you’re offering.
  2. Your offer or the deal and,
  3. Benefits they will get with this offer.

These things together form an attention-grabbing headline that drags people toward your funnel.

Hero Image: The words are not the only way to describe the product. It is equally important how you present it. You need to give the audience a picture in their head about what this product is like and what it can do for them. It must look good and clear for everyone who sees it. Also, it is crucial because the first thing that people see is the image, and then they start wondering what the product is.

Video – Inside the video, you have to cover primarily three things. Product value, what does it do for them? And Benefit. The best way to start a video is to connect with the audience then tell them what they can expect. You should finish your video with a call to action (CTA), or better yet, ask a question that will make people think more about your offer and encourage them to check your next page.

Form: The importance of a lead form cannot be denied. It is the place where you will collect your prospect’s contact information. This will help you know if one of them is interested in what products or services you are offering or not.

Call-to-action: Even though you have taken care of your landing page and builder lead generation form, you still need to make sure that your audience is clear on what they are supposed to do next.

There are many things that you should not forget to mention on your landing page:

  • What action do they have to take on this page?
  • What do they have to provide to submit their information?
  • Is there a specific format for the information required?
  • Is the information necessary for something specific or for anything in general?

If your audience does not know how and where to sign up, they will simply leave.

Make sure you take note of all the elements in your landing page, as each one is vital to the success of your page. If you do not have a solid call to action, your audience will be less likely to convert.

If you do not include social proof, you will miss out on many conversions from other customers finding your product or service and deciding to try it.

You can use Proofsoar to create a Social Proof and generate a Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) effect. Check it out here.

And if you do not have a strong lead magnet, you will find that people are less likely to convert because they won’t see the value you are offering. So, here you need to strategically create landing page.

Strategically Create Landing Page

Strategically building a landing page means utilizing each element on the page to its fullest potential.

You have to think about how you can use these five elements that we just have talked about to represent your lead magnet in the best way possible.

Make points and write in a crystal clear manner. Understand that there are a lot of writers out there who think that for you to understand them, they need to be as obscure and confusing as possible.

That is not only wrong; it is the opposite of what is true.

The most important rule of writing is this: if your reader hasn’t understood something by the end of the first page, you have failed as a writer.

So, write simple to the point and finish your page while using all the elements correctly.

Create Landing Page

You will find hundreds of funnel-making platforms on the market. People use different kinds of technology to create landing pages. For example, ClickFunnels and LeadPages.

However, My favorite software is WordPress, which I prefer over any other platform. You have more customization options here, and integration is a snap compared to other tools.

Plugin Installations

Let’s look now at the plugins you need to create a landing page.

  1. Elementor Pro (Required)
  2. Essential Addons for Elementor (Optional)
  3. Happy Addons for Elementor (Optional)

To create a landing page, you need to purchase Elementor Pro. It’s the paid version of Elementor and includes many extra features that allow you to make even more sophisticated landing pages.

To install a plugin, you’ll need to use the “Add New” button in the plugins menu. Once you do that, search for the plugin and then click on it. The installed plugin will now appear in your Plugins section. Here, you need to activate all of the plugins you just installed.

Page Building

Now that you have the right plugin, we can get started to create a landing page.

  • To do this, go to the Pages section and click “add new.”
Here enter your title and publish it.
  • Go to the Pages section from the sidebar again, and you’ll find your new page there that you just have created.

Several options will appear when you hover your mouse pointer over the Page Title box. Click on the edit with Elementor link, and your page will open with Elementor editor to edit it further.

The first thing you’ll see is the page that you just created and a sidebar widget.

First, you should visit the sidebar at the bottom left corner of your screen; there’s a small “Setting” icon there.

  • Click on it, and the sidebar will change.
  • Here on the changed sidebar, you have to find the “hide title” option and turn it on.
  • Below the “hide title” option, you will see the “page layout” option. In there, choose Elementor Canvas as your page layout.

Now again, head over to the bottom left corner, and here you will see a green button with text written on it as “update,” you have to click on it, and it will update your page with the new settings.

But unfortunately, you can’t see any changes right now because you have to refresh this page again. If you do, you will be able to see that the sidebar of your page has disappeared, and your title has disappeared from the top as well.

Page Designing

Those who know how to use Elementor can create a website from scratch, and those who don’t know how to use it, can import a pre-built template of a landing page onto their website, and further, they can edit it as per their preferences.

To import a pre-build page, you have to follow some steps.

In the middle of the screen, you will see four icons. The second icon, which looks like a folder, is the one you have to click. You’ll be redirected to the library section of Elementor. You can see several templates and choose one that resonates best for your landing page.

You can search for it by using the search bar.

When you find a template you like, click it, and at the top right corner of the popup, you’ll see an option called “insert.” Just click it to import that particular page directly to your website.

You can now edit this landing page to suit your needs.

Page Editing

If you want to edit your headline, click on your headline, and you’ll see that the option will change based on the element you have selected on your landing page.

On the sidebar, you’ll find a text box where you can type in a new headline. Any changes you make will instantly appear in the middle of the screen on your web page.

You’ll also find three primary options at the top of the sidebar. They are –

  1. Content
  2. Style
  3. Advance.

In this passage, you should primarily consider the two options: “Content” and “Style.” Because these are the options that you’ll use the most.

Content – You can choose to change your landing page elements with this option. You can change the text message, timer, or any other element of your landing page that you can see. Also, you can change the alignment, font, and size of your text to write and present elements in a way that appeals to your specific audience.

Style – You can change the font for the text, add shadows to elements, curve designs, and choose colors for elements using this option. This section keeps changing depending on the element you select.

Try clicking on these options or messing around with them to see what these options do. The only way to learn to use Elementor is through experimentation and play.

Setting Your Form Up

Now it’s time for the essential part of your landing page, which is your form. People often collect the lead’s name and email address only. But you can also collect phone numbers, addresses, or any other information that best suits your business.

To do this, click on the form, and on the sidebar, you will see your form field. These are the same form fields that you see on your landing page forms.

You will find an option called “Add Item.” Click on that to add more fields. When you click on that, a new form file will be added. You’ve got to customize it a bit.

To do that, see below, and you’ll see options like “Type,” “Label,” and “Place Holder.” Here you can click and choose what type of form it is and give it a label that describes its purpose in a few words.

You can also place a note on a placeholder text page to display the message to anyone seeing the form.

Setting Up Back-end Of The Form Up

Now you’ve created your form and built a landing page, but you need to set the back-end of your form. Where will users be directed to after submitting the form? Where will you get a notification when your form is submitted?

Click on the form. On the side, you’ll find a tab called “Action After Submit.” Click on it, and it will expand. Within that page, you may find many options such as “collect submission.”, “Email,” “Redirect,” and others. Cut these useless items and just keep “Email” and “ redirect .”

In the “Email” section, you will see a field labeled “To”; you should enter the email address on which you want to receive notices of each submission through your form.

Then, on the subject line, you can customize the message subject line a bit to make this email stand out from other messages. Further below is your message. Leave it as it is. No need to change anything here unless you know how you customize it.

Scroll down, and you’ll find a “Redirect” option. Click on it, and it will expand with a blank space to fill out the URL. Just put the URL of the page where you want to send your users after submitting this form.

Go to the bottom of your sidebar, where the page ends, and then click on “update.”

Now, you finally finished your landing page and completed setting up the form. Now it’s time to test it to ensure everything is in order. Go to the landing page, fill out the form, and click Submit. As you do so, two things should happen.

Your browser should redirect you to another page when you submit a form. Plus, you should also receive an email confirmation message on your email.

If that is happening, then everything is complete, and you’re all set up.

Conclusion

Now that you know the steps, just go, create a landing page, and start selling your product!

It is essential to keep in mind that building a landing page is not as easy as it seems. You would need to put in a lot of effort and time to create it. And It might be your biggest challenge when starting this, but once you learn it, believe me, it will make a massive difference in your business.

Treat it with an utmost priority, and don’t give up until the perfect landing page is ready for the website.

I’ll publish more articles on funnels in the future so that you can stay tuned for that. If you want to ask me any questions about this information, just leave a comment below, and I’ll follow up with you ASAP.
