So, you first have to create a “Lead Form” inside your Landing Page. People will fill the form out, and their information will be redirected to your EMS. Inside the software, you’ll have to process the leads.

As you work through this step, it’s essential to write the email for your audience. Then start with your first campaign. This is when you’ll send an email to your subscriber that you’ve created or collected.

After that, you can keep sending emails to your list. If you have 100 people on your list and 20 clicks on the email, you’ll probably get more clicks in the following emails.

Once you have figured out how the process works and have learned everything necessary, you will be able to automate the entire system.

For this, you need to connect your EMS with your Lead Generation Form. This way, whenever someone fills the form out, the email will find its way to EMS, and there inside the EMS, you’ll need to set up the autoresponder.

This way, the new lead will start receiving the email as soon as they sign up. From the bird’s eye view, the process looks something like this:

  1. Create your Landing Page and attach a Lead Form to it.
  2. Connect your Email Marketing Software with your Lead Form.
  3. Then create Segmentation inside your EMS for upcoming leads.
  4. Write and Create a Campaign for a particular segment. (Autoresponder setup)
  5. Then Follow up with them.

Just five simple steps to automate everything. Now, if someone enrolls through your lead form, they will automatically receive the email from you instantly, and now you don’t have to worry about anything.

Indirect Email Automation

There’s a second method of email automation that’s a bit complicated. You’ll have to deal with your lead through a 3rd party software and then bring it into your EMS.

You need software that helps you connect your EMS to any external software, and then you automate the stuff. Let’s understand this with an example.

Suppose you’re selling something through a website, and when it comes to payment, you redirect your user to any payment page. Point to note that the payment page isn’t something you can claim. It’s a third-party application, and here you need some software between your business EMS and that third-party application.

That software is called “Connect” or “SMTP.” It connects and syncs every single lead all around the web. So, if you take a birds-eye view, you’ll realize that the first method just requires a single software, your EMS, but here on the second method, you need two software, your EMS and the connect (SMTP).

Software you need

In general, there are several tools out there claiming to be good, but you’ll here have to make your call. You have to decide which software is best for you based on the nature of your business and the stage at which you’re standing right now.

Here in this section, I will let you know the type of software that is out there in the market. You can check each one of them. Later I’ll discuss the kind of software I use for my business.

So, as you know, in total, you need two software for email marketing.

  • Aweber
  • Mailchimp
  • Sendinblue
  • Hubspot
  • Pabbly

These are the top names. They charge you based on the size of the email list you have. If you have more, you’ll have to give more money to them; if you have less, pay less or use the tool for free.

However, just MailChimp and AWeber give you a free version of itself, rest all the paid. So, if you’re a new business, prefer to go with MailChimp. Yes, it’s a bit hard to use but worth using.

Connect or SMTP

Unfortunately, we don’t have much software in the market. Just a few of them provide this service. Also, connect is extremely expensive. This means if you have an email list of 10,000 people, you’ll probably need to pay them around 20,000 rupees which is insane.

  • Zapier

These are the option. There are more companies, but just these are popular among them. Now, let’s see what software I personally use for my business.

Software I Personally Use

I use “Pabbly Plus.” There is a reason behind it. First, it is an email marketing software, and it also has its own SMTP (Connect). This means it is a single software that does all for your business.

Plus, it has different features, including Form builder and Subscription billing, which help collect payment from a membership site. Aside from this, you can use it for your email verification.

They have built a bundle that includes everything that we just talked about.

Now, understand why I prefer to use it. If you go with Zapier, which is an SMTP (Connect), it will cost you ₹22000/mn, and for Email marketing software, you need 5000/mn approx.

If we do some calculation you’ll find, 22000 + 5000 = 27000/mn.

But with Pabbly plus, you only have to pay 5000/mn in total, which is 5X cheaper than that software. The second reason for using Pabbly plus is because it is also Indian based company and effective as an international company. So why not support our own country.
